Who We Are

Our story

Blush Cancer Care is dedicated to improving the wellbeing of breast cancer patients in Toowoomba, Darling Downs and the Lockyer Valley. We support patients from diagnosis through to treatment and beyond, thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the generosity of our community.

The Blush committee deeply appreciates every donation and the ongoing support from local business and the wider community. Your contributions have enabled us to launch innovative projects.

In 2026 Blush celebrated our 10th birthday and we are excited for the next stage in our journey! Over the past decade we have supported hundreds of people through their breast cancer journey and we are very proud of the contribution we have been able to make to our community.

We are currently supporting patients with our Blush Breast Care Nurses, our fitness programs, forums and care packages. We work collaboratively with breast surgeons and medical and radiation oncologists to provide a complete model of care based on up-to-date clinical guidelines.

We are so grateful for the ongoing support from our patients, volunteers and partners.

Locals Supporting Locals

All money raised or donated to Blush Cancer Care stays right here in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs community and is used for patient care, education and wellbeing.

Where do your donations go?

Breast Care Nurses

Breast Care Nurses support newly diagnosed patients and maintain contact with those who have completed acute treatment, providing expert, compassionate care, education, and practical and emotional support.

Fitness Programs & Support Groups

Regular exercise during and after treatment is proven to improve physical and emotional health, quality of life, and reduces breast cancer recurrence. Find out about our fitness programs here

Support groups are vitally important for patients living with breast cancer. We are proud to provide several support groups to allow patients to share information and experiences.

Patient Forums

We host regular forumsthat feature local and visiting speakers, trade displays, and breast cancer support personnel. The focus is on wellness and improving outcomes post-diagnosis. Thanks to generous speakers and sponsors, these forums are offered free to our patients.

Our next forum will be held in August 2026.

Blush Care Packages

All patients starting treatment receive a complimentary Blush care package. The Breast Care Nurse delivers this to the patient usually while they are in hospital and it continue information, resources and products to enhance the patients recovery but also to give them an initial link into supports and education resources available to them.

We thank Heritage Bank who in 2015 significantly supported the Care Package project.

Blush helped me understand and navigate the world of breast cancer without melting down into a total mess.  The team guided me through with intelligence, compassion, care and importantly gave me time.  I knew I could call anytime for anything.
